DreamSkin Perfect Skin Cushion joins Dior’s Capture Total family

At Dior’s it’s all about luxury and the heavy, elegant case the DreamSkin Perfect Skin Cushion comes in is no exception to the rule. The mirror, the application sponge inside and the firm click-closure of the case add to its’ handbag-friendliness. DreamSkin Perfect Skin Cushion has been designed to enhance the skin’s natural complexion by combating lines, dark spots, redness and a dull skin tone, while the powders in the formula neutralize shine. On top it contains a broad spectrum sun protection SPF 50. According to Dior, it’s formulated with tone adaptive technology. Therefor it only comes in three different shades that are said to match all skin tones. I’ve tried 010, which is the lightest one.

I use my foundation brush instead of the included sponge to apply it, that just works better for me. The water-based formula feels very lightweight and applies easily. It feels comfortably on my skin but as I expected, 010 is way too light for my sun kissed face. I can see what Dior claims though, the colour seems to melt away and to blend with my skin, blurring out the small imperfections. It delivers a transparent, semi-matte finish with a radiant glow to my skin. This cushion foundation is slightly buildable without getting cakey, but it’s building powers are limited. It won’t provide more than light coverage and that’s the whole point. Dior never refer to it as a foundation, rather than as a skin care complexion cushion. It can be applied in the morning alone or after your regular skin care product.

This cushion doesn’t come cheap, it’s quite an expensive ride, but the good new is that the box contains an airtight refill, which makes the case conveniently refillable! Hmmm, this color might actually work for my pale winter skin tone after all.
