Refreshing eyecare by Darphin.

On a regular basis, I’m asked to teach a skincare and makeup workshop for a small group of ladies with life experience. I like to do this, it’s totally different from working as a makeup artist or teaching professional makeup classes. Usually we start with the skincare basics, and I explain the importance of the daily routine.

Though everyone uses a moisturizer and the majority also applies a night cream, it astounds me that only a few ladies use an eye cream.  Why is this necessary, can’t I just use my regular day or night cream, you might ask?

Well, the skin in our eye area is a lot thinner and more delicate than the rest of our face, so a good quality eye cream will sink in better, allowing the active ingredients to do their job. It is also milder and contains less or no fragrance to avoid irritation.

I recently got  to test Darphin’s Hydraskin All-Day Eye Refresh Gel-Cream. It comes in a plastic squeeze tube with a needle nose, which I prefer over a jar: hygienic and easy on the go. Its fresh, lightweight texture is very pleasant, it is immediately absorbed, it hydrates well and feels super comfortably on my skin. The formula does contain perfume, but it didn’t cause irritation and it doesn’t linger either. This eye cream has been designed to depuff and diminish signs of fatigue, and so it does, to a certain extend. Don’t expect overnight miracles though. For an extra cooling effect on puffy eyes, you can keep the tube in the fridge. In my opinion, its best features are the featherlight formula and the long-lasting hydration power.

Take care of your eye zone,
Peggy
