Hair, self-tan and lash newness – Kruidvat Special!I’m one for diversity, and that’s no different when it comes to cosmetics. I believe there is a place for products in all price ranges, as clearly not everyone has the same budget to spend on beauty. This is why I like to put not only high end products in the spotlight, but also the affordable middle range as well as budget products. Lately I got to try several new products by Kruidvat’s own brand, so beauties on a budget, this special is for you!
Oil & Rescue is a range of three hair care products for very damaged and dry hair. It claims to improve the hair structure and to enhance the hair’s suppleness and shine. The cornerstone is the so-called “phyto-oil-care complex”, which contains argan oil, prune kernel oil and provitamin B5. Oil & Rescue features a fresh-scented shampoo and conditioner for daily use and a hair mask for intense repair and nourishment once a week. In my opinion these are no nonsense products that left my hair soft and shiny.
Rotating Volume is Kruidvat’s rotating blow dryer brush. It has 1000 watts and is equipped with ionic technology which minimizes the blow dry time and prevents the hair from frizzing. The body has two heat settings, a cool shot function and an easy-to-reach button to change the rotating direction. It comes with two brushes that lock onto the handle. I have to admit this way of combing/blow drying took me some getting used to. It rotates quite fast, so the bristles got stuck a few times when I got close to my scalp, but once I got the hang of it, this improved. The diameter of both brushes is quite large, which is ideal to create loose curls in long hair. Personally, I’m going to stick with my own blow dryer. It has almost double the wattage and I like to turn down the heat and still maintain drying power.
No sun tan yet? So fake it till you make it with self-tan products! Solait Self Tan Milk looks like a body milk and has in fact the same properties: walnut oil, sheabutter and vitamin E hydrate the skin, leaving it soft and supple. I applied a thin, even layer on my legs and after a few hours, I was able to show of a natural-looking tan. Solait Instant Self Tan Lotion is a chocolate-colored liquid that has to be applied with a self-tan glove. Because it immediately leaves a colored film on the skin, you won’t miss a spot. It takes about 4 to 6 hours for the tan to develop, in the meanwhile you have to avoid contact with water and other skincare products. After this period of time, remove the film from your skin with warm water to reveal the tan. Remember to exfoliate before using self-tanners for an even, streak-free result!
And last but not least, I tried Kruidvat Super lash Serum. This serum has been designed to lengthen, thicken and strengthen the lashes. This sounds like music to my ears, because removing eye makeup every day, even in the most gentle way, seems hard for my lashes lately. As instructed, I apply the serum every evening on my cleansed upper lash line with the brush-tipped applicator, mimicking applying liquid eyeliner. To get visible results, I have to do this daily for 4 months. The test panel shows impressive results: 96% of the users have stronger lashes after 16 weeks, 92% have thicker lashes and 75% state their lashes are stronger. Miracles don’t happen overnight in this case, so I keep on going.
