New Essie colors: Bridal, Trend and Neon collections!Essie, the nail polish brand with sassy named colors, launches some summer newbies that won’t go unnoticed.
If you’ve ever tried Essie Gel Couture, an easy 2-step gel-like manicure that holds perfectly for twelve days, you’re most likely hooked. No lamps or base coat needed, just two layers of color gel, applied with 60 seconds of drying time in between, plus a top coat to seal in the color and to provide extra shine, that’s it. I love the wide, flat shaped brush that allows precise application in no-time. The Gel Couture range, easily recognizable by the typical square bottle with a twist, was already available in 54 shades.
Essie teamed up with the famous bridal designer Monique Lhuillier and recently launched a limited collection of 6 couture bridal colors. “Dress is More” certainly will be a hit amongst brides, this creamy white with a hint of pink offers sheer color, applying 3 layers make it a pretty opaque. If you fancy a sheer pink with something extra, you might like “Blush-worthy”, this soft powdery-pink has tiny golden speckles. “Sage you love me” might seem an odd choice for brides’ nails, but this soft greyish green (or is it a greenish gray?) looks surprisingly well and feminine. The most daring choice is “Berry in love”, a cool-toned plum red. With like colors in the bride’s bouquet, the result is dazzling!
The Essie Trend Collection, inspired by a Parisian patisserie, features 6 new shades with fun, gourmand names. You’ll find soft pastels like “sweet soufflé”, “baguette me not” and “blue-la-la”, there’s “s’il vous play”, a stunning lavender-pink with a metallic finish, as well a warm orange and, my favorite, “éclair my love”, a bright red.
If you want your nails to stand out on the summer festivals, you might want to try the Neon Collection, featuring 4 flashy colors. You can’t go wrong with “Mark on Miami”, a bright orange, or “The fuchsia of art”, a poppy purple. With a layer of the white base coat “prime & pop”, the neon colors will stand out even more.
Or what about a matte look on your nails? The top coat “Matte About You” will provide any Essie nail polish with a matte finish. Be aware that this top coat takes some time to dry. Here’s a tip from Essie: after your color, apply a layer of the quick-drying top coat “good to go” before applying the matte top coat. You matte mani will look flawless!
