Hydra Genius by L’Oréal, a drink for your skin.If you’re looking for a light, non-greasy moisturizer that won’t break the bank, you might want to check out L’Oréal’s new Hydra Genius, a liquid-care moisturizer inspired by Asian skincare. Hydra Genius has been designed to provide dull, tired and dehydrated skin with intense and long-lasting hydration and a fresh look.
It comes in a glass bottle with pump dispenser, which is very handy because the water-based solution is quite runny, it’s like a very liquid gel. It feels fresh to the touch, it literally glides on and absorbs immediately, providing instant hydration and a comfortable, smooth feel. The formula contains two powerful hydration heroes: aloe water locks moisture in and reinforces the skin’s barrier to prevent water loss. The other one is a hyaluronic acid complex. It captures the water inside our skin, preventing moisture loss and making our skin looking smooth and plumped, and it helps to improve our skin’s natural moisture barrier on the long term.
Hydra Genius is to be applied mornings and evenings and is available in two versions: one for normal to dry skin and one for combination skin. It works well under makeup and it claims to suit also sensitive skin. My two cents, just be aware that the formula contains alcohol, phenoxyethanol and perfume. I can confirm its immediate hydrating effect but what about the long term claims? L’Oréal’s test results are promising: after 4 weeks, 92% of the women state their skin feels softer, and 81% confirm their skin texture looks smoother.
