The brow issue: the bold and the beautiful
I’m happy to see so many brow products on the market. After all, brows are an important feature in our eye makeup look and they literally frame our face. I’m not a person to go with the bold Instabrow, I want the result to be more natural and definitely not overdrawn. Let’s see what’s new in brow land.
Tattoo Brow by Maybelline is not your ordinary brow product. This colored gel is to be applied to your brows as usual, but after about 20 minutes it dries out and becomes an easy peel-off film. The result is a natural looking, evenly-filled brow that lasts for up to 3 days. This tattoo fades gradually and requires no touch-ups in between. For a more intense effect, you can let the gel sit for up to 2 hours before peeling it off. Make sure you pick the shade that matches your natural color, I used dark brown which worked just fine for me. Warning for the sleepyheads, don’t wipe over your stained brows with makeup remover, this will remove your carefully applied color.
If you prefer the old trusted eyebrow pencil and you don’t want to spend a small fortune, you might want to try Bourjois Sourcil Précision. This waxy pencil is hard enough to draw fine, precise brow hairs and the cap is equipped with a small spoolie.
Rimmel Brow This Way features Brow Pomade Fix & Fill, a chubby pencil with a soft, waxy texture that fills in your brows and controls unruly hairs in one go. There’s also the Brow Styling Gel, which I like because of the small, even application wand and the soft, powdery texture that guarantee a flawless, natural looking result.
An old time favourite -don’t ever discontinue this product!- is the Hourglass Arch Brow Pencil. It a brow pencil that combines powder with wax and for me the best one I’ve ever had. It’s quick, easy and the shades they offer are perfect. Now my hair is a little darker I use Soft Brunette, which looks super natural. No Insta-brow for me! Only downside is the price -34 USD- where is Santa when you need him?

If you are more a ‘easy going’ girls you might want to try the Givenchy Brow Pencil. On the high-end market it’s one of the pencils that I like to work with when I don’t have a lot of time or I do commercial work where the makeup has to be natural.
Recently I’ve posted an InstaStory review about my latest discovery, Wunderbrow. It is a kind of thick gel which you apply to the brows with a small slanted brush. You literally draw little hairs in between the existing brow hairs for the best result. It takes a little time at the beginning but once you get the hang of it you will have full(er) brows in a few minutes. And what’s more, they will be visible upto three days.
Last, but certainly not least, I’ve tried Talika Liposourcils Ink. This felt-tipped eye makeup pen not only defines and colors the brows, it also claims to stimulate the hair’s growth and fullness of our brows after 4 to 8 weeks. Application is easy, just draw it in the morning as usual on perfectly clean brows. It lasts all day, it’s smudge free and it easily lifts off with eye makeup remover in the evening. I cannot confirm the thicker brow claim yet, but it did look natural on my brows and the color lasted all day long.
Do you use a brow product? If so, which one is it?
