The cleansing files: a deep(er) cleansing
The cleansing files: for a more thorough cleansing of your skin.

In the cleansing files I’ll explain you everything you need to know about removing your makeup and cleansing your face. For those early mornings after a long party night and those Sunday pampering moments!

Chapter two: for those who like to take good care of the skin they’re in!

It’s not because you don’t drink coffee or don’t eat sweets you don’t have to brush your teeth right? Same goes for cleansing your skin, even if you never wear makeup, it’s still necessary to do it. In chapter one of the cleansing files I showed you some products for a quick cleanse, it was all about micellar textures. In chapter two, I’ll take it a step further.

I want to start with denying a myth and informing you that oil cleansers are actually a good option for a mixed or oily skin. In fact, they are even better than the harsh gels that leave the skin dry after cleansing. An oil cleanser is probably the softest way tho cleanse your skin, along with a balm, your skin sebum will not go in overdrive, producing even more.

Take a small amount in the palm of your hands and gently massage the oil onto your face.

Shiseido Perfect Cleansing Oil – suitable for face, eyes and lips.

After massaging, rinse with lukewarm water and there your go. It’s quick and easy, but already more thorough than a micellar water. Always finish a normal cleansing routine with a lotion or toner to restore the skin’s PH balance, remove oil and give the appearance of smaller pores.

Pixi Glow Tonic

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant is a powder that activates upon contact with water. It contains papain, salicylic acid and rice enzymes that micro-exfoliate, leaving skin smoother and brighter. Ideal for those who like to have a daily deeper cleanse, to be used after removing your makeup up and to be followed up with a toner.

If you want to go a step further you can choose for a cleansing mask or an exfoliating product, once to twice a week depending on your skintype. I like to use the Shiseido Super Exfoliating Discs as they a quick and easy. One side of each disc is textured cotton for a more intense exfoliating effect and the other side is covered in natural silk, for a polishing effect. A two minute task that leaves my skin clean, bright and fresh! I’m not a big fan of scrubs with grains, as most of the grains are made from plastic and they are simply too harsh for your skin. If you like to combine deep cleansing with fun, try the Glamglow Bubblesheet Oxygenating Deep Cleanse Mask which is infused with Green Tea Teaoxi® that works to reveal glowing skin.
